Android SDK - JDK not found - Solution
I recently got some new parts and were just building my new development station. That means also to install everything from scratch to have a clean workspace.

After a while I came to installing the latest Android SDK so go there and downloaded the installer. Which doesn't work because it was not able to find the JDK .. man ..

So I started searching around the web to find a fast solution for it.

I currently using Win7 Ultimate 64-Bit .. I also have downloaded the latest JDK for 64bit Systems.

These are the possible solutions I've found (none of them worked for me)

Pressing Back in the Installer followed by next -> doesn't work

Setting JAVA_HOME Environment Variable -> doesn't work

Setting PATH Variable (watch character casing) -> doesn't work

Messing around with Registry Values -> haven't tried, it's clumsy

Replace "\" with "/" in those Paths -> doesn't work.

So all those tipps had not worked at all. But here is the solution:

Go and get the 32bit java JDK .. not the 64bit .. install that and everything is fine.

Android SDK itself is 32bit so they may rely on the 32bit SDK as well.

Hope that will spare you some headache ;-)

If you are using a 64bit version of eclipse, please be sure, to ALSO install the 64bit version of java sdk/jre .. because the 64bit version of eclipse will search for the 64bit version of java ..

messy .. I wonder that nowadays such problems does still exist ..

If you are using 64bit windows and want to use the 64bit version of eclipse, just install the 32bit AND 64bit version right away and you will merely experience no problems at all (I think).

Not perfect, but it has worked for me - wish I had done that right away in the beginning xD
