Open Letter to EA
EA (Electronic Arts) is currently a semi finalist for the vote of the worst company in america!

They recently reacted by an open letter why they think, they do not deserve to be the worst company in america.

Now, I am doing the same here is an open letter to EA, reacting on your points, where you think the world is wrong. Let me tell you, that the world is not wrong, and let me also describe to you why .. silly enough, that you cannot find the reasons yourself..

Many continue to claim the Always-On function in SimCity is a DRM scheme. It’s not. People still want to argue about it. We can’t be any clearer – it’s not. Period.

You should investigate the problem of always on. Because the game does NOT need to be always on. The game itself is able to function offline. So when people claim it is DRM, it is because you will not allow to play it offline even when this is technically totally possible. I can't be any clearer, it looks like DRM. Period.

Some claim there’s no room for Origin as a competitor to Steam. 45 million registered users are proving that wrong.

Forcing your player to use Origin is not competitive. Wanna test it? Offer your games at steam as well and see your registered users drawning. How stupid is it, to claim that users WANT origin because they want to play your games? They simply cannot play many games without using origin. So you forced them. Period. Make a Poll if you dare. Personally I hate Origin, because it is buggy as hell and steals ressources from my workstation. Wanna be better than steam? Than try it with better software not with forcing users to use it.

Some people think that free-to-play games and micro-transactions are a pox on gaming. Tens of millions more are playing and loving those games.

Some people also think, that food out of garbage cans is ugly - but hey, thousends of homeless guys are still eating it! Come on EA .. you should open your ears and hear what people want to tell you. The problem are not microtransaction. The Problem is Pay to Win. Or bleeding out a game by offerning a shitload of special items. Look at Battlefield 3 what a player has to pay for getting the whole game. It is just not right and you know it.

We’ve seen mailing lists that direct people to vote for EA because they disagree with the choice of the cover athlete on Madden NFL. Yes, really…

Just because I tell people they shall jump out of the window, does not mean, that they really will jump out of the window ... Yes, really..

In the past year, we have received thousands of emails and postcards protesting against EA for allowing players to create LGBT characters in our games. This week, we’re seeing posts on conservative web sites urging people to protest our LGBT policy by voting EA the Worst Company in America.

Are you really complaining about people have different minds at all? One part is always complaining. Stop whining.

All of what you say, EA, makes me more sure, that you actually are one of the worst companies of america, because you just have no idea of what your customers are complaining about.

Let me be clear: I would not say that you failed totally. You have some good games, but recently what EA did is more of crap. Look at Sim City. Look at the always-on problem - no one wants that bullshit. And it was your decision, now, live with it, you got the anger of players, and it's your fault. Stop being surprised about that.
