You will get a "Device not recognized" bubble in the Taskbar and cannot access your Galaxy S3. The solution is rather simple and relies mainly on the problem, that after a firmware update the current installed driver is not suitable for the new firmware. For whatever reason, Win7 does not recognize a different hardware and therefore will not install any new driver automatically. If you try to re-install the Driver over Kies that will not work (no idea why) - you now can search and download the latest samsung drivers for yourself, but if you are lazy like me, just do the folowing and everything will be fine: Disconnect your Galaxy S3 from USB Shut Down your S3 Start it again (some ppl say you have to wait 3 minutes until you restart, but that's bullshit, just restart) Connect to your PC over USB Ta-Da, you're fine. Win7 new recognizes the new device paramters and reinstalls the proper drivers, your S3 will be connected without any problem. That may be a god hint for all of us who never restart their phone (like me).
