This time I want to talk a little bit of the eCPM inthe MoPub Ad Provider.

You can think of the eCPM (which you can enter for each ad network and ad unit seperately) as some sort of priority flag.
So the server will also try to get an ad from the highest CPM network first - if it does not receive an ad there, it will try the next network.

That is pretty useful but you have to know, that MoPub does not know the eCPM out of the box and the value, which you can enter there is just a number, which is never checked against the eCPM.

That does NOT count for the mopub marketplace - the eCPM there will be adjusted automatically and you can set a minimum eCPM for it - very useful.

So, it is your job to maintain this eCPM numbers and MoPub has given you a very good tool for it.

You can do that oldschool check your networks CPMs monthly and manually enter the current CPM values into your MoPub Network Settings.

But i really recommend you, that you set up the reporting capapbilities for each network. Once you did that, MoPub can gather more information about your revenue. That means it can also calculate the current eCPM Values for you!

Now you just need some clicks to check your entered eCPM values against the real values...

...and if you need to adjust them, then simply (it's genious) click on the config button next to the network and now you will see the reported eCPM if you click on it, it will be copied to your network setting with just one click.

I have to admit, that these eCPM sorting was a little bit confusing for me in the very first time, because I was a newbie in ad servers but I get the hang of it really fast.

Normally, that is such a feature, where you think about it all the time and hate the website devs because they haven't invented such a button. Thumbs up for MoPub.

Also - which deserves to be mentioned - the guys at MoPub are doing a great job on support and while I am just online with them for around a week I already see improvement on CTR which is really nice. Sure, most if it is triggered by the recent changes to my app, but now I can easily change the networks when I feel so, nearly instantly and without deploying a new version.
That is nothing really new these days and nearly every network comes up with mediation these days but I am happy with MoPub currently
