Steam: Heaven or Hell?
First of all: I do like steam as a game purchasing plattform. Really, I love it for that purpose, because I can go there all the time and do some shopping.

Also there are great deals all the time, which will help the devs and the players.

As a Game Shop, Steam is the best you can currently get - in my opinion - I really don't want to miss it.

BUT - what I really HATE about steam is their DRM .. sure, DRM was the main purpose of steam right from the beginning .. no idea, why it still doesn't work !!!

If you are a steam user, you will know the following:

* I cannot start my game because steam is down.
* I cannot start my game because steam is slow.
* I cannot start my game because steam has killed itself.

and so on, and so on. Don't get me wrong, I do see a reason for DRM - but please, not that way. Look. Here is the comparision:

Buyer: waiting for steam to start a purchased game (steam server sleeping)
Pirate: start immediatly

Do you see what I mean? Steam is going the right direction because steam make it more easy than anything else to buy a game but in the end, you cannot play, when steam decides to do not work properly. That's worse.

Hopefully someone at steam will get notice about that, otherwise, they are not allowed to wonder when people still prefer pirated copies.

In the past, a pirated copy was ONLY free - today it seems, that it is not only free, it is also of better quality and that's clearly a step in the wrong direction.
