Project Home Screenshots Blog Posts Forum | 2012-10-21 22:09 XCOM Enemy Unkown - End Of Fun Even when they have fiddled some sort of story inside the game - the story is by far not that interesting and stunning like it was for example in XCOM Apocalypse - gamepley stays also completely the same. Whatever, later in the game - spoiler! - you have to investigate an underground alien base .. well, so go in there, doing the same as in every other mission. But wait, there is something new! Near the end of the mission, the game starts to turn slow, freezes and then shuts down, with an out of memory error message .. because I have tons of memory that is clearly a bug in the game (combined with the other symptoms) I also noticed that on the start screen the XCOM logo has some strange texturing problems, so they messed something up in the latest patch, I fear. Look people - I can understand such things, when it comes to a low budget project, but come on - this is really not a cheap game with really not that much depth. Is is heavily overpriced, and with the successful pre-purchase thing you did on steam, you already have your costs and your win in your pocket. Is it that hard to ask for a game without memory management bugs? I know that it is really not easy to make a game 100% stable, but such bugs are discovered during testing. Don't get me wrong, but there is a true quality problem in current game releases, especially with AAA titles - and even more, when those titles have a well known name or license. At least, this is normally a reason for me to not buy a game, just because in general those games are bugged or incomplete or just crap. Have I mentioned, that neither Jagged Alliance nor The Aftermath Trilogie had force closed a single time? .. just to mention .. ;-) Read the whole series: X-COM - Enemy Unknown REVIEW (demo) XCOM Enemy Unknown - Full Review - Is it worth?
